Carbon Footprint of DELBERT Pharma

Jun 2025

Our dedication to sustainable and responsible business practices

As a mission driven company, DELBERT Pharma has embedded in its mission the commitment to take concrete action in favor of accessible healthcare, while contributing to a more sustainable future. In line with this commitment, we conducted our first Carbon Footprint Assessment through Diag Décarbon’action – an initiative led by Bpifrance in partnership with ADEME and the Association Bilan Carbone, and supported by the company R3.

This assessment marks a key milestone in our CSR strategy and aims to provide an objective view of our environmental impact, helping us identify the main levers for action.
DELBERT Pharma’s total greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions for the year 2023 were estimated at 3037 tonnes d’émissions de CO² équivalent*. This result reflects an emissions profile consistent with that of our industry and has enabled us to pinpoint the main sources of GHG emissions, in line with our pharmaceutical model based on outsourcing: : core business purchases and supply chain activities account for nearly 83% of our carbon footprint. Other significant areas include support services, business travel, and logistics.

Through this analysis, we have identified clear areas for improvement to reduce our emissions by 10 to 20% by 2030, focusing in particular on:

  • Managing our subcontractors (e.g. identifying suppliers – APIs/excipients/packaging – that are geographically closer; including carbon footprint criteria in questionnaires and Requests for Proposals, etc.),
  • logistics (e.g., replacing air freight with sea freight to reduce downstream shipping emissions to French overseas territories, reducing the number of pallets stored in countries with high-carbon energy sources), and l’éco-conception (e.g. using e-notices…),
  • while strengthening internal awareness (e.g., developing a Responsible Purchasing Charter to reduce the impact of support services, offering CSR training and awareness programs for buyers focused on responsible procurement, and raising employee awareness of climate issues—with a focus on business travel, eco-friendly habits, and responsible digital usage).

*Emissions are reported based on the Bilan Carbone® standard, not the BEGES or GHG Protocol frameworks.
